چکیده
The ground beetles, Zabrus spp. Clairville, 1806 (Coleoptera: Carabidae) is one of the major pests wheat plants across world, and control this pest a challenging issue. In present study, potential two local entomopathogenic nematode (EPN) species [Heterorhabditis bacteriophora Poinar, 1976 (Rhabditida: Heterorhabditidae) Steinernema feltiae Filipjev, 1934 Steinernematidae)] against larvae was evaluated with trials under field conditions in 2015. EPNs were applied at concentration 1 x 106 IJs m-2 to soil surface mid-April number alive assessed 14 days after treatment (AT). addition, spp.-damaged counted establish efficacy on short (14 AT) long term (6 months AT). reduced by least 50% as compared treatments both trials. Altgough there remarkable decrease which applied, did not produce significant effect. Present findings indicate that tested have good for sustainable management

Badister Clairville 1806: A new species and new continental record for the nominate subgenus in Amazonian Perú (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Licinini)
Badister (Badister) amazonussp. n. is described from Perú, Loreto, 1.0 km SW Boca del Rio Samiria, Vigilante Post 1, 130m, "04°40.5'S, 074°18.9'W" its type locality. It is known also from two other localities in Loreto Department, Perú, in both the Varzea and Igapó river systems. This new species is sufficiently different that a new informal higher taxon, the amazonus species complex, is recogn...
متن کاملVirulence of entomopathogenic nematodes to pecan weevil larvae, Curculio caryae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), in the laboratory.
The pecan weevil, Curculio caryae (Horn), is a key pest of pecans in the Southeast. Entomopathogenic nematodes have been shown to be pathogenic toward the larval stage of this pest. Before this research, only three species of nematodes had been tested against pecan weevil larvae. In this study, the virulence of the following nine species and 15 strains of nematodes toward fourth-instar pecan we...
متن کاملSusceptibility of Aethina tumida (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae) larvae and pupae to entomopathogenic nematodes.
In this study, we evaluated the potential use of entomopathogenic nematodes as a control for the beetle Aethina tumida Murray (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae). In particular, we conducted 1) four screening bioassays to determine nematode (seven species, 10 total strains tested) and application level effects on A. tumida larvae and pupae, 2) a generational persistence bioassay to determine whether sing...

The first reliably identified Trechini beetle species from Baltic amber, Trechus balticus sp. n., is described. This new fossil species is most similar to extant species of the Palaearctic Trechus sensu stricto, as well as to the Nearctic Microtrechus Jeannel, 1927. Since the fossil specimen is a female and some important character states cannot be investigated, its true systematic position wit...

In the recant decade, biopesticides with entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) have been developed with using different methods and materials. But the production of such biopesticides has always accompanied by some limitations such as low quality o...
